All About Chi Omega

The Chi Omega Fraternity was founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. Four women, with the the help of a local dentist, established the secrets, symbolisms, and ritual that now bind together over 360,000 women from 181 collegiate chapters and 246 alumnae chapters nationwide. Chi Omega boasts over 5,100 national volunteers and is led by the Supreme Governing Council, Executive Headquarters Staff, and Board of Trustees.

Over the years, Chi Omega has provided opportunities for personal growth and development through philanthropy and sisterhood. Since 2002, Chi Omega has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Each chapter also serves a local philanthropy, recognizing service as a founding principle of our Sisterhood. Contributions made by alumnae, collegians, and friends of Chi Omega enable our Fraternity to provide additional educational opportunities and scholarships.

In a nutshell, Chi Omega values sisterhood, scholarship, and service. The women who have chosen Chi Omega have been inspired by our values to serve the world while keeping Chi Omega ever at heart. By embracing our founding principles and purposes, we place value at the root of our words, thoughts, and actions, while enjoying one another as Sisters and friends.

We have chosen Chi Omega because she has chosen us. We stand together as “Sisters on purpose.” Learn more about the Chi Omega Fraternity and the Chi Omega Foundation by visiting the national website.

Chi Omega is a home wherever you are. Yesterday, today, & tomorrow, for all generations.

Chi Omega Symphony

To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appearances; to be in the best sense, democratic rather than “exclusive”, and lovable rather than “popular”; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings and to have her welfare ever at heart that she may be a symphony of high purpose and helpfulness in which there is no discordant note.

When we looked upon that pin, our hearts then opened up to Chi Omega. Even though we were very young, we must have realized something about the spirit of the Fraternity.
